Ferrari just announced that injured driver Felipe Massa

Ferrari just announced that injured driver Felipe Massa could be back in the saddle as early as Monday. Massa hasn't been in an F1 car since July's Hungarian Grand Prix, when a spring from another car flew up and hit him above his eye, fracturing his skull.

The first time he has even been back on track was last week when he took the wheel of a kart. Because of testing bans in place this season in F1, Massa can't drive the current car he was running until Hungary. As he gets back up to speed, the FIA has granted him permission to drive a 2007-spec car fitted with GP2 tires.

Massa has also spent time on Ferrari's racing simulator. Word has it he's already mastered Barcelona and is working hard at beating the Interlagos circuit now. Before taking the wheel of the 2007 car, he still needs to pass an examination, but once he's cleared, he could be on track in Italy by Monday. This will be testing only as the driver isn't expected to compete for Ferrari any more this season.

Lexus LF-Gh concept teasers

That model has essentially been an evolution of the Giugiaro design that debuted on the original GS way back in 1991, but the new concept promises to show the way forward; not just for the mid-range Lexus sedan, but for the entire brand.
The Toyota luxury division has confirmed the debut of the LF-Gh – shorthand for Lexus Future Grand-Touring Hybrid (of course) – with the release of these two teaser shots and the press statement we've posted after the jump. Lexus says the car will spearhead the next step in its L-Finesse design language that's been in play for a decade now.
From what we can tell from the crop-shots, the LF-Gh looks to blend some of the aggression we've seen on Audi concepts of late with some thoroughly Japanese-looking design flourishes, but we'll have to wait a little longer to see the big picture.

Lexus RX 450h

The Lexus RX 450h can operate using only electric, only gasoline, or use both in tandem. The 350 uses a conventional 6-speed transmission, but the Lexus RX 450h utilizes a continuously variable transmission.

TheLexus RX 450h hybrid system includes a 288-volt battery pack that sits under the rear seat, which sends power to the front mounted motor-generator that drives the front wheels. In all-wheel drive trims, another motor-generator drives the rear wheels. Both models have another generator that's engine-driven rather than battery-driven, so it functions as a starter and can power the battery pack or other electric motors.

Lexus uses a handling system it calls Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM); it's standard on the Lexus RX 450h and optional on the 350. If the system detects a loss of control, it uses all the electronic systems -- ABS, brake assist, traction control, and stability control -- as well as throttle control to help the RX get back on track. In the 450h, the electronically controlled brakes work with VDIM as well.

Lexus IS 350

Both engines come with variable valve timing for responsiveness as well as fuel efficiency-the IS 250 is quite economical with EPA ratings of up to 21 mpg city and 29 highway. While the IS 250 comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, with a 6-speed automatic (and steering-wheel paddle-shifters) optional, all IS 350 models come with the automatic.

In all
IS 350 models, a double-wishbone suspension design in front and a multi-link rear setup help reduce weight and increase responsiveness. The suspension in the IS is tuned to be quite firm, yet there's enough give to maintain enough ride comfort for most.

The
IS 350 has rather compact exterior proportions, which means that backseat space is tight for the tallest adults, especially in IS C convertibles. However it's quite comfortable in front. Leather upholstery is standard, with new black-metallic accents in the sedan and the IS sedan has a reasonably large trunk.

Zenvo ST1 Coming to the U.S

Zenvo ST1 Coming to the U.S For A Cool $1,255,000
Zenvo ST1 Coming to the U.S For A Cool $1,255,000
Ever heard of Zenvo? If you haven’t yet, you’ll probably will want to. The company is a Dutch supercar manufacturer known for their new ST1 model.

The project started in 2004 and surfaced publicly in 2008. Now a company called Red Sea Distribution in Indiana is making the car available to customers in the United States.

The car was first shown to the public in June 2009 at LeMans. Since then, Zenvo said it has received an “overwhelmingly positive” response to the car.

At a price tag of $1,255,000, we don’t imagine there is going to exactly be a very long line. The car is mid-engined and is powered by a turbocharged AND supercharged 7.0-liter V-8.

The eye popping power output stands at 1,104 horsepower (!) routed through a six-speed manual gearbox. Attention officially granted.

The car makes the run to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds and 120 in under nine seconds. Zenvo plans to make 15 ST1s per year. A Red Sea Distribution representative had this to say:

“We are very proud to be appointed the official US distributor for ZENVO, as a specialist niche market distributor we offer a service to the exotic dealer that has never been seen in the US before. We look forward to appointing new dealers and giving them the status of new car dealer for the ZENVO brand.”

Lotus Esprit Concept

It's been a while since something took us by surprise at an auto show. Usually we've seen the pictures and read the press releases a few days ahead of time, so there's nothing new revealed we weren't already expecting. Until today. We were expecting Lotus to reveal a pair of new Evora models, a new front-engined GT called the Elite, and if we were lucky, maybe the new Esprit. What we got was something much, much better.

As we arrived at the Lotus booth here at the Paris Motor Show, we spotted a total of five cars under cover. Perhaps a concept and some new versions of existing cars? What proceeded to happen was something entirely unexpected. Lotus CEO Dany Bahar addressed the crowd, announcing that Lotus would be entering a new era. In a matter of minutes, the wraps were pulled off the Esprit, Elan, Elite, Elise and Eterne concept cars, each time with a gasp from the crowd as the next concept's name was announced. This wasn't just the introduction of a few concept cars. We were witnessing the complete and utter revitalization, rebranding and rebirth of a legendary car company.

With this new lineup of cars, it's easy to see that Lotus wants to play with the big boys – Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Aston Martin. Bahar had announced last year that this was the direction the company would take, but we didn't expect it to happen so soon or all at once.

One question still has to be asked, though. Is this direction the right one for Lotus? We can appreciate all forms of performance cars, but is there enough room for Lotus to edge its way into each of these target markets? Can the Esprit conquer the McLaren MP4-12C or the Ferrari 458 Italia? Will buyers go for a Lotus Elite over the Ferrari 599 GTB or the Aston Martin DBS?

Lotus has long been the master of lightweight, nimble sports cars, and many will undoubtedly say that the company should stick to the same cars it's been building for the last decade. After all, what would Colin Chapman say about a Lotus coupe that weighs over 3,600 pounds? And a grown up Elise? Then there's the styling. As usual, we're split down the middle here at Autoblog. Half of us love the styling, while the other 50 percent thinks it looks too generic. In the end, only time will tell whether Lotus fans will like the direction the company is headed.

There's quite a bit of information on each vehicle, so click the links below to learn more about them.
